Dr. Grinspoon
Dr. Grinspoon is a rare, pure sativa heirloom strain bred by Barney's Farm in Amsterdam, named in honor of Dr. Lester Grinspoon — a Harvard Medical School professor, psychiatrist, and legendary cannabis advocate. Rooted in Laotian landrace genetics and cultivated through open-pollination to preserve its genetic purity, it is one of the few remaining true heirloom sativas on the market. It is instantly recognizable by its highly unusual bud structure: loose, bead-like calyxes hanging from thin, wispy stems — unlike any modern hybrid. With THC levels ranging from 20–26%, it delivers a powerful, long-lasting cerebral high prized by connoisseurs and intellectuals. The strain won second place at the High Times Cannabis Cup. Due to its 13–14 week flowering time and challenging grow profile, it is best suited for experienced cultivators.
